Muddy Anchor is my latest boat project. It is a 1975 Ericson 27 sailboat that I have gutted down to a bare hull. I am planning a full restoration

Delivery Day

Formerly called "Lone Star', I will be renaming her "Muddy Anchor". I know that you have to sink a boat before you can rename her but I am taking poetic license. She leaked profusely on deck every time it rained and the previous owner let her fill up until the engine was submerged. I consider that an internal sinking!

One consequence of the deluge down below was the submerged engine. All the engine oil floated out and coated everything in the boat. There was no way to get the smell out. That's when I made the decision to do a complete gut.

I built this gantry to remove the offending engine

I constructed this trolley from angle iron, flat iron and steel castor wheels from Home Depot. The chain hoist is from Harbor Freight.
